Privacy notice

Remote Job Finder finds remote jobs that fit your resume and emails them to you. It is run by the team behind Remote Job Finder. Write to privacy@remotejobfinder.ai with any question.
What we collect
- Your resume file or pasted experience, and the text and career profile we read from it.
- Where you live and the kind of work you want.
- Your email address and how often you want job emails, once you ask for them.
- The jobs we matched you with.
- Technical data: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, a five-minute cookie that shows the welcome once after you confirm your email, a cookie that keeps your answer about cookies for a year, and your IP address and browser details, kept with your session for bot checks and rate limits. To suggest your country, we look at the country your internet connection comes from, and keep it only if you confirm it.
- Visitor statistics, on our own Umami server in Germany (collect.interviewcopilot.ai). They use no cookies and store no IP addresses. They record which page is opened (without what follows the ? in its address, except campaign tags and the share tag), the site you came from, your browser, device, screen size and language, and the country your connection comes from. They are off when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
- Usage statistics in PostHog, which depend on your answer about cookies. See Statistics and cookies.
Why
We use your data only to find jobs for you and to email them to you, because you asked us to. We never sell it, and we never send your resume to employers.
Ads in job emails
Each job email has one slot for an ad, marked Sponsored, which keeps the service free. We never choose ads based on your resume, your answers or anything else about you.
- We count how many emails carried each ad and how many times its link was clicked, per day. Advertisers get only these totals.
- An ad's link goes through our site, which counts the click and sends you on to the advertiser. We store nothing about you with the click. On the advertiser's site, their own privacy notice applies.
- We never give or sell your email address, your resume or anything else about you to an advertiser.
Sharing Remote Job Finder
Links you share from Your jobs or a job email end with ?from=share, so our visitor statistics can count visits from shares. The tag says nothing about you or the person you send it to. If you share by WhatsApp or LinkedIn, that service handles your message under its own terms.
Statistics and cookies
We use PostHog to see how people use the site, so we can make it better. PostHog keeps these statistics on its EU cloud in Frankfurt, Germany. What it gets depends on your answer to our question about cookies.
- If you allow cookies, PostHog keeps a random code in a cookie and in your browser's storage for a year, so it can tell your visits apart from other people's. It records the pages you open, what you click, how far you scroll, how fast pages load, errors in the page, and a replay of your visit. The replay hides everything you type, your email address and the name of your resume file, and pages opened from a link in one of our emails are never replayed. PostHog uses your IP address to find the country and city your connection comes from, and does not keep it.
- Once you confirm your email, if you allowed cookies, we tell PostHog your account's id, a random code, so your visits on other devices count as one person. We never give PostHog your email address or your resume.
- Until you answer, and if you say no, PostHog counts the pages you open and what you click without cookies. Nothing is stored in your browser. PostHog tells visits apart by a code it makes from your IP address and browser, which changes every day and can't be turned back into either, and it does not keep your IP address.
- When your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, PostHog gets nothing and we don't ask.
- When you delete your account, we ask PostHog to delete everything it holds under your account's id.

Who helps us
- Cloudflare runs the website, stores resume files in the EU and runs bot checks.
- Hetzner in Germany hosts our databases and the servers that do the matching.
- Google (Gemini, in the United States) reads your resume file or pasted experience into text.
- TypeSafe (in the United States) helps judge how well each job fits. It receives your resume text with your name and contact details removed. TypeSafe does not train on this text without consent, and sets no fixed retention period.
- Resend (in the United States) sends our emails. It receives your email address and what each email says.
- PostHog keeps our usage statistics on its EU cloud in Germany, as described above.
Cloudflare, Google, TypeSafe, Resend and PostHog are companies in the United States, so what they handle for us may be processed there.
How long we keep it
We keep your resume and profile until you delete your account. If you start but never confirm an email address, we delete what you uploaded or pasted after 30 days.
Your choices
- Change how often we email you, or turn emails off, in Settings or from the links in any job email.
- Delete your account and everything in it in Settings. It takes effect right away.
- Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or that we delete it or stop using it, by writing to privacy@remotejobfinder.ai. This works without an account too. We answer within a month.
- Complain to the data protection authority where you live, if you think we handle your data wrongly.
